2 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga

Your journey begins early in the morning from Fes, driving south through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is in Ifrane, often called the "Switzerland of Morocco," with its alpine architecture and clean streets. You will then pass through the cedar forest of Azrou, where you may spot Barbary apes. Continuing on, you travel through the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass and reach Midelt, known for its apple orchards, where you can enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, the road takes you through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and fortified villages, before reaching Erfoud, famous for fossils. By sunset, you will arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you will ride camels across the golden sand dunes to reach your desert camp. Enjoy a magical sunset, traditional Berber dinner, and live music under the starry Sahara sky. Overnight in a luxury or standard camp.

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes, a breathtaking moment in the Sahara. After breakfast at camp, you will ride camels (or take a 4x4 transfer) back to the village. From there, the journey back to Fes begins, with stops along the way to relax and enjoy the scenery.

You will pass through Rissani, the traditional market town of the region, then continue through Errachidia and the Middle Atlas Mountains again. Stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing north. By the evening, you will arrive back in Fes, where the tour ends.
